Origina Russian/Soviet army Granit plate, for body armor vests 6b45 and 6b46, Level 5a

Ceramic-composite armor panels of the Granit series are developed and manufactured by NPF TEKHINKOM using its own multi-stage molding technology. The Granit series has been around for over 20 years and includes several generations of armor panels, including Granit-4 for BZ 6B13, Granit-6A for BZ 6B43, Granit-5A for BZ 6B45.

The main materials for the current line of commercial armor panels Granit Br4, Granit Br4+ and Granit Br5+ are aluminum oxide ceramic tiles and UHMWPE-based composite, each batch of which undergoes thorough incoming control with firing tests.

The armor panel is part of a protective composition consisting of the armor panel itself, a splinter screen (with a V50% parameter of at least 550 m/s) and a CAP. In this case, the specified level of protection is ensured, including reducing the ZKT to an acceptable level.

The ceramic layer is composite, i.e. consists of individual segments, which ensures the localization of destruction, significantly increasing the survivability of the armor panel during shelling.

The structure of the Granit BP ensures high operational resistance, including to aggressive environments and mechanical impacts. In addition, the design of the armor panel implements solutions to minimize the effect of lateral ejection in case of edge lesions.

The armor panels have an ergonomic shape and a two-plane bend, which allows use in both the chest and back sections of a bulletproof vest or plate carrier.
